Only members of 100+ Women Who Care Northern Door County in good standing are eligible to nominate a nonprofit. Nominations must be submitted at least 30 days prior to the next quarterly meeting to be approved.
Be a non-profit organization whose mission includes serving Northern Door County.
Our intention is to support the community in a manner that respects the various political and religious differences among the 100 Women Who Care members. Political and directly religious organizations are not eligible for nomination. However organizations providing direct outreach for humanitarian efforts for the community such as a church run food pantry would be eligible for nomination. Furthermore, Team Leaders at their discretion, reserve the right to disqualify any nonprofit that will divide rather than bring our members together based on political or religious beliefs.
Demonstrate how the money they receive from 100+ Women Who Care Northern Door County will serve Northern Door County.
Be a non-profit recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) organization.
Be able to provide charitable tax receipts for donations.
Be actively engaged in the community and executing their mission statement.
Agree to not solicit our members based on their donations through 100+ WWC Northern Door County.
The goal of 100+ Women Who Care Northern Door County is to make a meaningful contribution to the Northern Door County community. When considering a nonprofit to nominate, we encourage you to focus on how the nonprofit is making a difference in our local community. For example, ask yourself:
What is the organization doing to make our community a better place?
How many people, animals, etc. can be helped and how much will those lives will be improved by a $5,000 - $10,000 donation? Note: Our quarterly donation is based on current membership numbers.
How effective is the organization in achieving its mission? Does the organization have:
defined, measurable goals and objectives in place;
a defined process in place to evaluate the success and impact of its program(s); and;
a strategic plan in place to fulfill the goals and objectives of the organization?
National or international nonprofits, programs or organizations will not be considered at this time as the focus is on contributing to our local community. Organizations with a national link may be nominated provided the request is for a project serving Northern Door County. The funds must stay in our community.
Members may have one active nonprofit nomination at any point in time.
If two (2) members submit the same nonprofit for consideration, the member submitting the nonprofit first will have that nonprofit on record and have the opportunity to present on behalf of that organization.
If multiple members submit the same nonprofit for consideration, they will have two (2) options. 1) Nominate a different nonprofit. 2) Acknowledge that the member submitting the nonprofit first will have the opportunity to present on behalf of that organization. If that member is not present at a meeting and the nonprofit is drawn, additional members attached to the nonprofit will have the opportunity to present.
